In this day and age you don't need to spend your hard earned money to get good quality music plugins. Spending money is for rich people with bitcoin, Dingwall basses and Pro Tools. Today we are going to overdrive your guitar and unleash hell with $0 worth of pedals!
To test these VSTs I will be running each overdrive pedal plug-in in front of a high gain amp sim. The amp sim I decided to go with for this post is Amped Roots Free by ML Sound Lab. I will be using the same amp settings on each track. Here's the settings being used:

Lets start off with the overdrive included in our free amp sim. There isn't much to say about this pedal other than it works well with the amp sim.

This pedal is a digital emulation of the real life pedal used by Experimental Metal band Benevolent's two guitarists Hadi Sarieddine and Mohammed Gad. The great thing about this plug-in is that it is made by the same company that built the real life pedal, Ignite Amps.
